Humanitatis studia, bonum commune — the studies of humanity, the common good
Founding partner of the University

Identity

The Bourbon-Montpensier Foundation is the partner foundation of Saint-Louis – Université Méditerranéenne des Nations, within the Cooperation and Partnerships Division.

It supports the development of the University and of its partnerships — Africa, the Mediterranean, Europe — and conducts, in its own right, a work of intercultural and interreligious dialogue. It places its action in the tradition of the studia humanitatis and in the service of the common good.

Mission

Intercultural dialogue

Bringing together the cultures of Africa, the Mediterranean and Europe through teaching, research and university cooperation.

Interreligious dialogue

Sustaining dialogue between religious traditions, in the spirit of the Fez Declaration (2022) and of the European humanist tradition.

Service of the common good

Working in the tradition of the studia humanitatis: the studies of humanity in the service of the city, of the dignity of persons and of peace.

Cercle France-Irak

Founded in 2019 by Prof. Dr Ala’a Gafouri, the Cercle France-Irak runs with the University the Al-Khawarizmi programme of excellence of the CHOISEUL FACULTY. The Foundation and the Cercle join their efforts in Franco-Iraqi cooperation: intercultural and interreligious dialogue, memory and violent pasts, academic francophonie.

Link with the University

The Foundation sits within the University’s Cooperation and Partnerships Division, which runs the University’s representations in Côte d’Ivoire (Flora Zahi) and in Spain (Rachid Boukhzer), and international cooperation (Nestor Ndoudi).
